Eligibility and Policy for Team Recovery in sportsYou

In sportsYou, the team recovery process is designed to prioritize both the security of users and the accountability of organizational operations. Below are the key details regarding team recovery eligibility and the corresponding rationale:

Who Can Request Team Recovery?

If a team is deleted, recovery can only be initiated by the following individuals in authorized roles:

  • Team Creator: The user who originally created the team has the authority to request its recovery. This ensures that recovery permissions remain with the individual directly involved in the team's creation.

  • Designated Administrator: This may include roles such as a school administrator or an Athletic Director. These are individuals who hold organizational authority within the school, club, or institution. Their role ensures proper oversight and legitimacy in the recovery process.

  • The Admin That Deleted The Team: Accidents do happen. If a team was accidentally deleted by an admin who didn't create the team, we can recover the team upon their request.

Why Are There Restrictions on Team Recovery Requests?

The restriction on who can request team recovery is in place to ensure:

  1. Safety and Security: Given that teams often include students or minors, the policy prevents unauthorized individuals from reinstating teams, thereby minimizing the risk of malicious misuse or breaches in privacy.

  2. Authorization and Accountability: By limiting recovery to trusted individuals such as the team creator or designated administrators, the policy upholds organizational integrity and accountability.

How to Request Team Recovery?

To initiate a team recovery, the authorized individual should:

  1. Navigate to the support section in sportsYou.

  2. Request a Team Recovery Form, ensuring to include all relevant details (e.g., team information, reason for recovery).

  3. Provide proof of identity or role if required (e.g., verification as a school administrator).4. Wait for confirmation from the support team. Once the recovery request is verified, the team will be restored. You will receive a confirmation notification, which may include details such as who deleted the team and when.

The support team will review the request to verify eligibility and ensure compliance with safety protocols. After the team is restored, members who were part of the team before deletion will regain access automatically. Additionally, all team members' contact information remains intact, eliminating the need to reenter this information.

By adhering to these processes, sportsYou ensures a secure and transparent system for team recovery while protecting all users, especially minors, involved in its organizational ecosystem. If the recovered team does not appear in your account immediately, try refreshing the app or browser, fully closing and reopening the app, or verifying that you are logged into the correct account.
