How to Import External Calendars

Integrating external calendar feeds into your sportsYou team calendar allows you to consolidate events from multiple sources into one place. This ensures that all updates made to the source calendars are automatically reflected in your sportsYou calendar, saving time and reducing manual effort.

  1. Access the Team or Group Calendar

    • Open the team or group where you want to add the external calendar.

  2. Open Calendar Settings

    • Click the Gear icon located near the top-right corner of the page.

  3. Select 'Import External Calendar'

    • From the dropdown menu, choose the option labeled "Import External Calendar."

  4. Paste the Calendar URL

    • Copy the URL of the external calendar feed (e.g., an iCal link) you want to integrate.

    • Paste the URL into the provided text box.

  5. Import the Calendar

    • Click the "Import Calendar URL" button to complete the process.

  6. Repeat for Multiple Feeds

    • If you have multiple external calendars to integrate, repeat steps 3–5 for each URL.

TIP: If you are importing a Google Calendar URL, you want to copy the link that says, "Public address in iCal format."

Common Issues and Troubleshooting

  • Invalid URL Error: Ensure the calendar URL is in the correct format (e.g., iCal) and accessible.

  • Sync Delays: Allow some time for updates from the source calendar to reflect in sportsYou.

  • Duplicate Events: If duplicate events appear, verify that the same calendar feed hasn’t been imported multiple times.

  • Organize Your Feeds: Label your external calendars clearly in their source applications to easily identify them in sportsYou.

  • Regular Updates: Ensure the source calendars are updated regularly to reflect accurate information in your sportsYou calendar.

  • Avoid Overlapping Events: Check for overlapping events across feeds to prevent confusion.
