Here is a guide on how to get started using sportsYou with your team(s).
You can join or create as many teams or groups as you'd like, both for your school seasons and any club, travel, premier, alumni or rec teams/groups you are a part of year-round
Highlights of the sportsYou features:
1. sportsYou should be used for all team communications via the post on FEED team/group page or CHAT feature.
2. There is a CALENDAR feature for each team/group. The same event can be added to multiple calendars at the same time for both the team and the parent group.
3. There is a MEDIA team page to store photos and videos and there is a separate Photographer role.
4. Your sportsYou account and teams can be accessed from the sportsYou.com or the sportsYou app
5. The screens below are the same whether you want to communicate to the players and/or parents on a TEAM or in separate groups.
Download sportsYou App:
You can download the app in either the Google Play (Android) or App Store (iOS)
Create an Account:
Creating a sportsYou account is a straightforward process. Below are the steps to create your account, along with additional tips to ensure a smooth experience. Make sure the email address you use is correct and accessible. Using a consistent email address and password ensures you won't accidentally create duplicate accounts, which can lead to complications.
Steps to Create Your sportsYou Account
Access the Platform Download the sportsYou mobile app from your app store or visit the official sportsYou website.
Start the Signup Process Begin by signing up with your email address. Follow the on-screen prompts to create your account.
Create a Password When prompted, set up a secure password for your account. Ensure that the password meets the recommended security requirements.
Consistency is Key To avoid creating duplicate accounts, use the same email address and password for both the app and the website.
Log In Once your account is created, you can use the same credentials to log in on either the mobile app or the website.
Important Tip
Using consistent credentials ensures you won't accidentally duplicate your account, saving you time and effort. Always remember to log in with your existing details if you're switching between devices or platforms. Additionally, you can schedule a one-on-one session with a sportsYou representative for personalized assistance, such as onboarding or resolving setup issues.
Create team
APP
1. In the bottom tray, tap Teams/Groups.
2. Tap the floating blue (+) button.
3. Tap Create Team or Create Group.
COMPUTER
1. In the left column, next to My Teams click blue (+) to create a team and next to My Groups click blue (+) to create a group.

Adjust Team Settings:
APP
In Team Settings or Group Settings, you can choose to a. Allow Members to Chat and b. Approve Non-Admin Posts. You can also do multiple other actions.
1. Tap your team or group, then tap gear icon in top right.
COMPUTER
1. In far right under the cover photo, click gear icon.
2. Click Team Settings or Group Settings.
Add Members:
APP
1. In the bottom tray, tap Teams/Groups.
2. Tap team or group you wish to add members.
3. At the top of the team, tap Members.
4. Tap floating blue (+) button and tap option.
COMPUTER
1. Navigate to the team or group page you want to add members.
2. Click the blue Add Members button located far to the right and select the method that is best for you. You can copy the team code, share a PDF with the access code and instructions, enter email addresses, or choose from a list of teammates/group mates/ friends on sportsYou.

Join a Team: ( How parents will join once you have given them the team code)
APP
1. In bottom tray, tap Teams/Groups.
2. Tap floating blue (+) button and tap Join Team/Group.
3. Tap Enter Access Code or press down to paste copied code.
COMPUTER
1. In the left column, click the blue Join Team/Group button. Enter code.

Post in Feed:
Post a message to the Team Feed to communicate with every member on the team.
APP
1. In the bottom tray, tap Teams/Groups.
2. In a personal, team, or group feed, select, "What are you up to?"
3. Type your message and add photos, videos, files, or a poll.
4. In the top right, tap Next.
5. Select additional teams or groups. In the top right, tap Post.
COMPUTER
1. In a personal, team, or group feed, select, "What are you up to?"
2. Type your message and add photos, videos, files, or a poll.
3. In the Posting To dialogue box, select additional teams or groups.
4. Click Post.

Create team chat with specific members of your team:
APP
1. In the bottom tray, tap Teams/Groups.
2. Tap the team or group.
3. Tap floating blue button in the bottom right.
4. In the upper right, tap Start.
COMPUTER
Using Chat, you can message individuals and the team/group in real-time.
1. In the left column, click the team or group.
2. Click the blue Team Chat or Group Chat button under the cover photo, located to the right.

Send Individual Chat:
Choose team > Members > Select the chat bubble next to the person you wish to chat with.
Add events and games to your calendar:
APP
When you create an Event or Game, you can add a location with Google maps integration, add attachments, as well as send notifications.
1. In the bottom tray, tap Calendar.
2. Tap floating blue (+) button and tap Create Event or Create Game.
3. Reminder, tap the arrow in the Calendar window to select the team or group calendar.
Computer
1. In the left column, near the top, click the Calendar link.
2. In the top left, click the blue New Event button.
3. Click Event or Game.
4. To choose the calendar for event/game, click down arrow located in the Calendar window in the middle of the page

Add another Admin to your team or make a parent a photographer: A team/group Admin can add/delete members, manage calendar, and manage settings. In sportsYou, there are no restrictions on the number of admins a team or group can have. Administrators can manage communications within their respective groups, assign roles or adjust team settings, and support group members based on their roles and privileges.
APP
1. In the bottom tray, tap Teams/Groups.
2. Select a team or group.
3. At the top of the team, tap Members.
4. Tap three dots ("more" icon) to the right of the member name.
5. Tap Make Admin or Make Photographer.
COMPUTER
In the left column, click the team or group where you want to make a member an admin or photographer.
1. Click the Members tab of your Team or Group.
2. Click the Edit icon to the right of the member.
3. Click Make Admin or Make Photographer.
